In the fall of 2000 my 15-year-old daughter and I embarked upon the most amazing trip of a lifetime to several areas of China. Our trip, a China Studies Program with James and Helen Jay of Feng Shui Designs from Nevada City, California, begin in Beijing.

We met our guide David and begin our adventure with much anticipation of what the next few weeks would hold for us. We had no idea this would soon become the trip of our lifetime and an experience and people we would never forget. We traveled almost 3 weeks throughout China learning about the architecture, temples, and culture of this amazingly beautiful country and its people. Our trip involved far more sights than I am able to profile, however, I would like to highlight a few.

From Beijing, we traveled along the Mongolia border by train and arrived in Datong where we visited the Grottos.

From Datong, we ventured by bus by narrow roads into a rural area known as the Wu Tai Shan Mountains.

From the Wu Tai Shan Mountains we traveled on to cruise the Yangtze River, visited the Xian Warriors and ended up in Shang Hai for our flight home with more stops in between. This trip was a trip not for the faint of heart but one for those who love history, adventure, and a desire to bridge the gap between cultures. The Chinese people were welcoming and endearing and brought smiles to our faces where ever we went.
Enjoy the photos and I do encourage you to check out www.fengshuidesigns.com for their future China Studies Programs.
I hope to one day go back to SEE China again through more experienced Feng Shui Eyes.
